ALL LANES OPEN ON I-81 IN HARRISONBURG

STAUNTON – (12:30 p.m.) All travel lanes have reopened on Interstate 81 in the city of Harrisonburg, following a tractor trailer crash near mile marker 245. The northbound and southbound shoulders will remain closed while crews finish cleanup operations. Northbound traffic is backed up roughly five miles, but there are no delays for southbound traffic.

During the accident shortly after 4 a.m., a tractor trailer overturned and struck the overpass bridge at exit 245 (Port Republic Road). The Virginia Department of Transportation has inspected the bridge and determined that it did not sustain any damage.
