ALL I-81 NORTHBOUND LANES HAVE REOPENED IN RAPHINE AREA OF ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY

STAUNTON – (5 p.m.) All lanes have reopened on Interstate 81 northbound in the Raphine area of Rockbridge County.  Earlier this afternoon a multi-vehicle accident closed both northbound lanes mile marker 204.  This location is between exit 205 at Raphine and exit 200 at Fairfield.  This area is north of Lexington.

A tractor trailer blocked both lanes and is now located on the side of the road.  An operation to remove the tractor trailer from the interstate is scheduled for 10 p.m. tonight.

Traffic is backed up approximately seven miles.  Motorists should expect significant as traffic clears the area.
