ROUTE 340 CLOSED IN ROCKINGHAM COUNTY

STAUNTON – An accident has closed both lanes of Route 340 (East Side Highway) in Rockingham County between Elkton and Grottoes. The crash took place shortly before 9 a.m., and the roadway is expected to remain closed until sometime after noon.

 

A detour has been set up for Route 340 traffic. Northbound drivers will be directed northeast on Route 754 (Rocky Bar Road) and then west on Route 649 (Berrytown Road) back to Route 340. Southbound drivers will detour east on Route 649 and then southwest on Route 754 back to Route 340.
