TRACTOR TRAILER CRASH CLOSES EASTBOUND LANES ON I-64 IN AUGUSTA COUNTY

STAUNTON – (1:30 p.m.) A tractor trailer crash on Interstate 64 has closed all eastbound lanes at mile marker 97.5 on Afton Mountain in Augusta County.  This location is between exit 96 at Route 624 in the Lyndhurst area and exit 99 at Route 250 on Afton Mountain.  

Operators at the Virginia Department of Transportation Traffic Operations Center do not have an estimated time of reopening.  Reports from the area indicate a milk tanker was involved and HAZMAT teams are responding.

Motorists should anticipate significant delays in this area.  Please check 511 for updates on lane closures.
