ROUTE 642 IN FREDERICK AND CLARKE COUNTIES TO BE CLOSED
Detours in Place During Bridge Deck Replacement

STAUNTON Part of Route 642 at the Frederick-Clarke County line will be closed for a bridge deck replacement for approximately 10 days beginning Tuesday, October 15, 2013.

 

Route 642 is Armel Road in Frederick County and Chrismore Road in Clarke County. The work will take place at the bridge over Wright’s Run, which marks the border between the two counties. The estimated completion date is Friday, October 25, weather permitting.

 

Eastbound traffic will use the following detour: Route 643 (Ritter Road) west to Route 522 (Front Royal Pike), south to Route 646 (Reardon Road), east to Route 644 (Gun Barrel Road) and north to Route 642.

 

Westbound traffic will detour from Route 644 south to Route 646, west to Route 522, north to Route 643 and east to Route 642.

 

The VDOT Staunton District serves Frederick, Shenandoah, Clarke, Warren, Page, Rockingham, Augusta, Highland, Rockbridge, Alleghany and Bath counties.
