I-81 AND I-64 SLOW ROLL CLOSURES SEPT. 22 – ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY
For Installation of Overhead Utility Lines
STAUNTON – Motorists should be alert for northbound and southbound “slow roll” lane closures on Sunday, September 22 along Interstate 81 in Rockbridge County.
This operation will allow crews to install overhead utility lines along I-81 at exit 188. Traffic will be controlled with a northbound slow roll between mile markers 180 and 188, and a southbound slow roll between mile markers 195 and 188. Traffic merging from I-64 eastbound to I-81 southbound may also be affected.
Both closures will be completed between 7:00 a.m. and 7:30 a.m., and utilize Virginia State Police and variable message boards.
All work is weather permitting and slow-roll times are subject to change.
