I-81 CRASH SOUTHBOUND IN FREDERICK COUNTY CAUSES DELAYS
STAUNTON – (9:30 p.m.) A multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 81 south of Winchester in Frederick County is causing delays. The crash site is near mile marker 309 southbound, which is between exit 310 at Route 37 and exit 307 at Route 277 in Stephens City.
At least one southbound lane is anticipated to remain close for several hours to allow for law-enforcement work and site clean-up.
Delays were up to five miles around 9 p.m. The crash was first reported in the Virginia Department of Transportation Traffic Operations Center around 8 p.m.
The VDOT Staunton District serves Frederick, Shenandoah, Clarke, Warren, Page, Rockingham, Augusta, Highland, Rockbridge, Alleghany and Bath counties.
