ALL SOUTHBOUND LANES ARE OPEN IN SOUTHERN ROCKINGHAM COUNTY
STAUNTON – All southbound lanes have reopened on Interstate 81 in southern Rockingham County. Earlier this afternoon an accident involving three tractor trailers caused delays. The crash site was at mile marker 237.9 near the median area. This location is between exit 240 at Route 257 near Mount Crawford and Bridgewater and exit 235 at Route 256 near Weyers Cave.
Wrecker crews were able to move all the tractor trailers from the crash site early this evening.
The VDOT Staunton District serves Frederick, Shenandoah, Clarke, Warren, Page, Rockingham, Augusta, Highland, Rockbridge, Alleghany and Bath counties.
