TWO SINKHOLE REPAIRS WILL BE DONE ON ROUTE 50 IN CLARKE COUNTY
STAUNTON – Repairs to a sinkhole located off of Route 50 located 0.03 mile south of Route 723 in Clarke County will be done on June 23 and June 24. Repairs began around 11:30 a.m. on June 23 and will conclude around 4 p.m. on June 24. The Route 50 westbound left lane and the eastbound left shoulder will be closed during the work. During the week of June 27 a paved ditch will be installed at the sinkhole repair site. There will be a single lane closure on Route 50 westbound at that time.
Also in Clarke County, repairs to a sinkhole off of Route 50 located 0.2 miles north of Route 750 will begin on June 27 at 7 a.m. The repairs are expected to last three days. The Route 50 eastbound right lane will be closed to traffic from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. or later during the work.
All work is weather permitting.
