SINKHOLE REPAIRS WILL BE DONE ON ROUTE 50 IN CLARKE COUNTY

STAUNTON – Repairs to a sinkhole located off of Route 50 in Clarke County will be done on June 23 and June 24.  Repairs began around 11:30 a.m. on June 23 and will conclude around 4 p.m. on June 24.  The westbound passing lane and the eastbound left shoulder will be closed during the work.  This location is in the vicinity of Route 723. All work is weather permitting.

During the week of June 27 a paved ditch will be installed at the sinkhole repair site.  There will be a single lane closure on Route 50 westbound at that time.

The VDOT Staunton District serves Frederick, Shenandoah, Clarke, Warren, Page, Rockingham, Augusta, Highland, Rockbridge, Alleghany and Bath counties.
