CRASH CLOSES PORTION OF ROUTE 11 IN WINCHESTER AREA

STAUNTON – A crash on Route 11 in the vicinity of the Interstate 81 off ramp at exit 317 in the Winchester area has all northbound lanes on Route 11 closed.  This affects traffic headed northbound on Route 11, traveling towards the City of Winchester.  The I-81 northbound off-ramp at exit 317 is also closed.

Officials at the Virginia Department of Transportation Operations Center state that the Route 11 northbound closure is expected to last until approximately 6 p.m.

The crash happened late in the morning and for a period of time all Route 11 lanes were closed in this area.

Motorists should use caution when traveling in this area and expect delays.

The VDOT Staunton District serves Frederick, Shenandoah, Clarke, Warren, Page, Rockingham, Augusta, Highland, Rockbridge, Alleghany and Bath counties.
