STAUNTON – There will be bridge deck work on the southbound Interstate 81 bridge over Route 11 at exit 195 in Rockbridge County.  This is in the Timber Ridge area and north of Lexington.

There will be a single lane closure on the bridge beginning at 9 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 9 and lasting until 7 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 12.  There will be another single lane closure beginning on Friday, Sept. 23 at 9 p.m. and lasting until 7 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 26.  These closures will be 24-hours a day.

Also on Sept. 9 and on Sept. 23 the exit 195 off-ramp will be closed beginning at 7 p.m. for two hours, to permit work zone set-up and traffic control.  The ramp will be reopened around 9 p.m.

During the bridge deck work, tractor trailers will remain on I-81 and passenger vehicles will take a detour using the exit 195 off-ramp, cross Route 11 with the assistance of flagger traffic control and then immediately re-enter I-81 using the exit 195 on-ramp.

All work is weather permitting.
