BE ALERT FOR ROAD CLOSURES AT MEEMS BOTTOM BRIDGE

STAUNTON – Motorists should be alert for upcoming road closures on Route 720 at the Meems Bottom Bridge in Shenandoah County near the Town of Mount Jackson. Route 720 will be closed from Oct. 31 to Nov. 11 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday.  This closure will allow crews to perform bridge maintenance work and electrical upgrades.

The Meems Bottom Bridge is a historic covered bridge located over the North Fork of the Shenandoah River, approximately 0.3-mile west of Route 11.

Motorists should continue to be alert for maintenance activities at the bridge after Nov. 11.  Route 720 will remain open during this portion of the work.

All work is weather permitting.
