VDOT TO IMPROVE LANDSCAPE ON ROUTE 7 NEAR BERRYVILLE
“It was necessary to keep the scope of these plantings limited due to the current budget situation but we did want to restore a portion of the area that was disturbed and serves as a gateway to the Town of Berryville,” said Jeff Lineberry, VDOT’s Residency Administrator in Luray.
The additional plantings will be a bed of Autumn Red Daylilies, 65 feet long, from Route 7 eastbound to the Route 7 Business ramp. There will also be Adagio Grass, 15 feet in diameter, surrounded by 10 feet of Autumn Joy Sedum to serve as the focal point of the entire bed. The plantings will supplement the three existing juniper beds and two daylily beds that were left in place in the intersection triangle.
The plantings are scheduled to be installed October 29, 2008, weather permitting.
