VDOT CELEBRATES SOUTH LOUDOUN STREET PROJECT COMPLETION
The project was awarded by the Commonwealth Transportation Board on June 21, 2007 for $3.8 million to R. G. Griffith, which later took its parent company’s name of American Infrastructure of Worchester, Pa.
The project widened South Loudoun Street to five and six lanes and also replaced the box culvert serving Abrams Creek under the road. The .37 mile project extended from Weems Lane to Featherbed Lane.
The project was completed on Sept. 8, 2008 and was on time and under budget. The City of Winchester City used its urban construction funds for the South Loudoun project.
