MOTORISTS SHOULD EXERCISE CAUTION IN VIRGINIA AND AVOID TRAVEL IN NORTH CAROLINA
Check 511Virginia.org for latest Virginia road conditions

RICHMOND, Va. – The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) advises motorists to monitor weather and road conditions as the remnants of Tropical Depression Florence continue to bring rain, thunderstorms and tornado threats to parts of the Commonwealth. Drivers should exercise caution as recent rain and ground saturation have resulted in flooded roads and downed trees.

Motorists are particularly urged to avoid travel to and through North Carolina due to flooding affecting major routes and detours in many parts of the state.
