EVALUATION OF DULLES TOLL ROAD PPTA PROPOSALS TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED

RICHMOND, Feb. 8, 2006 - Further evaluation of the four private sector proposals to operate the Dulles Toll Road under the Public Private Transportation Act (PPTA) has been suspended for up to 45 days.

This suspension is taking place to enable the transportation secretarys review of a proposal submitted by the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA). It proposes to develop and operate certain transit and road facilities in the Dulles corridor. MWAA submitted its proposal last December. It is being considered independent of the Dulles Toll Road PPTA proposals.
