TRAFFIC ALERT: BLASTING AND SLOW ROLLS SCHEDULED ON INTERSTATE 81 AT EXIT 105 IN PULASKI/MONTGOMERY COUNTY THIS WEEK

SALEM - As part of the ongoing New River bridge construction project at mile marker 105 at the Pulaski/Montgomery county line, drivers can expect noise and delays due to blasting and slow rolls on Interstate 81.

During this week, October 30 through November 6, blasting has been scheduled between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Slow rolls will be used in both northbound and southbound lanes at mile marker 101 northbound and 108 southbound at the rest area. Exit 105 will be closed during blasting until the slow roll can go through the work zone.

In addition, on I-81 northbound, exit 105 on and off ramps will be closed on Saturday, November 4 for a concrete pour.

Drivers should expect loud noises and are encouraged to allow for extra travel time. Updated information will appear on message boards in the area.
