TRAFFIC ALERT: TRAFFIC CHANGE COMING TO EXIT 150 OFF INTERSTATE 81 IN BOTETOURT COUNTY NEXT WEEK

SALEM – As part of the ongoing construction project at the Interstate 81 exit 150 interchange in Botetourt County, a new traffic pattern is scheduled to be implemented next week.  The new traffic pattern involves reconfiguring lanes on northbound and southbound Route 11.

Periodic lane closures for modifying the pavement markings will precede the closure of one right turn lane from southbound Route 11 onto northbound Route 220 that is expected to go into place the morning of Friday, April 22.

Weather permitting, on Tuesday, April 19, Wednesday, April 20, and Thursday, April 21, pavement marking removal and re-striping will require some short-term lane closures.

During daytime hours from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and during nighttime hours from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., various lane closures will be in place on northbound and southbound Route 11 as needed to facilitate the pavement marking operations.

This traffic pattern change is needed to allow for drainage work and the installation of curb and gutter.
