TRAFFIC ALERT: SLOW ROLLS FOR PRIORITY SLOPE REPAIRS BEGIN TOMORROW ON INTERSTATE 77 IN CARROLL COUNTY
Travelers should prepare for significant delays

SALEM – As part of the slope repairs on southbound Interstate 77 at mile marker 3 this summer, a slow roll will be put in place starting on Monday, June 27, weather permitting.

On Monday, June 27, through Wednesday, June 29, slow rolls will be put in place on southbound I-77 from mile marker 14 to mile marker 8 between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. for priority slope repairs with mesh installation.

The on ramp at mile marker 8 will be blocked during the slow rolls and drivers should prepare for heavy traffic and significant delays in the area. State Police will assist with implementing the slow rolls that will last for 15 minutes each.

Motorists are encouraged to find alternate routes. Drivers approaching the area are encouraged to slow down and use caution in the work zone. A shoulder closure is expected to remain in place at mile marker 3 until early July 2016.
