TRAFFIC ALERT: ROUTE 620 CLOSED FOR EMERGENCY PIPE REPLACEMENT IN CARROLL COUNTY

SALEM – Effective today, Thursday, August 4, a section of Route 620 (Lambsburg Mt. Road) has been closed to traffic due to an emergency pipe replacement.

The closure is located approximately 1500 feet north of where Route 620 (Lambsburg Mt. Road) intersects with Route 788 (McCraw Road) and approximately 0.4 mile south of where Route 620 intersects with Route 695 (Chestnut Grover Road).

Motorists will need to seek an alternate route. A detour has been put into place and signs will direct traffic.

The detour will direct traffic onto Route 788 (McCraw Road), to North Carolina, Route 1649 (Clydes Hayes Road), then onto Route 1602 (Imogene Church Road), to Route 1618 (Maple Grove Church Road), then onto Route 1396 (Pine Ridge Road), which turns into Virginia, Route 696-695 (Chestnut Grove Road), and back onto Route 620 (Lambsburg Mt. Road).

The road will be closed through August 9, weather permitting.
