TRAFFIC ALERT: BRIDGE AND PIPE REPLACEMENTS SCHEDULED IN BOTETOURT COUNTY

SALEM – Bridge and pipe replacements on Route 615 and 621 will impact traffic in Botetourt County beginning next week.

Beginning at 9 a.m. on Friday, April 29, a lane closure will be in place on Route 615 (Craig Creek Road) while work to replace a bridge over Saville Branch is completed.  The bridge is located approximately 2 miles from Route 743 (Draft Road) and 1.40 miles from Route 621 (Roaring Run Road).  Traffic will be reduced to one lane across the bridge with stop signs controlling traffic.  Weather permitting, the road will be open to traffic by 6 a.m. on Monday, May 2.

On Monday, April 25, a lane closure will be in place on Route 621 (Roaring Run Road) while work to replace a Box Culvert over Roaring Run is completed.  The box culvert is located 0.30 miles from Route 615 (Craig Creek Road) and 2.65 miles from the Alleghany County line. Traffic will be reduced to one lane across the box culvert with stop signs controlling traffic.  Weather permitting, work is expected to be completed in late June 2016.

Drivers are encouraged to plan travel accordingly with delays expected and use caution in the work zones.
