TRAFFIC ALERT: THROUGH-TRAFFIC DETOUR ON COTTON HILL ROAD IN ROANOKE COUNTY SCHEDULED
Closure to impact through-traffic for several weeks

SALEM – Beginning Monday, June 20, the section of Route 688 (Cotton Hill Road) between Route 888 (Raintree Road) and Route 1255 (Monet Drive) in Roanoke County will be closed to through traffic.  This section of Route 688 will be reconstructed as part of the ongoing road project.

Local traffic will still be able to use Route 688 so residents can access their homes during construction.

Through traffic on Route 688 will need to detour around the closure using Route 221 and Ranchcrest Drive/Merriman Road.   Signs will be in place directing traffic.

Weather permitting, the roadway is expected to reopen by mid-July.

Message boards and signs are in place to advise motorists of the upcoming closure.
