TRAFFIC ALERT: SOUTHBOUND ROUTE 220 BLOCKED IN FRANKLIN COUNTY BY OVERTURNED TRACTOR-TRAILER

SALEM – An overturned tractor-trailer has blocked both southbound lanes of Route 220 in Franklin County.  The incident occurred near Route 220’s intersection with Route 619 (Pleasant Hill Road).

This location is south of Rocky Mount, about 34 miles south of Roanoke and ten miles north of the Henry County line.

No estimated time for reopening southbound Route 220 has been established at this time.  The Virginia Department of Transportation is working to establish a detour.

Drivers should expect delays.
