TRAFFIC ALERT: NORTHBOUND INTERSTATE 81 EXTENDED LANE CLOSURES SCHEDULED THIS WEEK IN PULASKI COUNTY

SALEM – Beginning this afternoon, Wednesday, December 2, at 3 p.m., alternating left and right lane closures will be in place on I-81 northbound at mile marker 94 in Pulaski County through Sunday, December 6 for emergency bridge work on a project.

Work will begin with a left lane closure today for approximately 24 hours and be switched to a right lane closure for the remainder of the repairs through Sunday. This work is weather permitting.

While previous work in the area has been during nighttime hours, crews will be using concrete for repairs and warmer temperatures are needed to allow for application and curing. The time of completion by December 6 is approximate as lane closures must stay in place until the work is completed.

Drivers should expect delays and are reminded that the speed limit in this work zone is reduced to 55 mph.
