TRAFFIC ALERT: LANE CLOSURES AND SLOW ROLLS SCHEDULED ON INTERSTATE 581 AND 81 FOR SIGN INSTALLATIONS

SALEM – On Thursday, November 19, lane closures will be in place on I-581 in Roanoke to install two overhead signs from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning. The right and center lane will be closed on I-581 northbound from the exit at Valley View Boulevard to the exit at Peters Creek Road. In addition, the right on I-581 southbound will be closed from the exit at Peters Creek Road to just north of the exit at Hershberger Road.

When the signs are being set, two slow rolls for traffic will be put in place for north and southbound I-581 for each installation. State Police will assist.

On Friday, November 20, a right lane closure will be in place on I-81 southbound in Botetourt County for a sign installation at mile marker 151.6. The right lane will be closed from 7 p.m. until the following morning when the work is completed.

Drivers should expect delays in the area and are encouraged to plan accordingly or seek alternate routes.
