TRAFFIC ALERT: EXPECT DELAYS ON ROUTE 122 FOR REPAIRS ON THE GOOSE CREEK BRIDGE IN BEDFORD COUNTY

SALEM – Drivers should expect delays on Route 122 in Bedford County about three miles north of Moneta.  Crews are working to make temporary repairs to the Route 122 bridge over Goose Creek which has been damaged when a vehicle struck it.  

Route 122 is reduced to one lane with flaggers controlling traffic.  The bridge is located 0.1 mile north of Route 801 (Stoney Fork Road) and 0.8 mile south of Route 731 (Chestnut Fork Road).

Crews with the Virginia Department of Transportation expect the repair work to take several hours and continue into the evening.
