TRAFFIC ALERT: DETOUR TO BE REMOVED ON ROUTE 622 (BRADSHAW ROAD) IN ROANOKE COUNTY
Drivers on Route 622 should use caution and watch for flaggers

SALEM – As of 6 p.m. today, the detour in place for a culvert replacement on Route 622 (Bradshaw Road) in Roanoke County will be removed, and the road open for traffic and emergency vehicles.

About 0.1-mile of Route 622 remains gravel roadway, so motorists should use caution and reduce speed when driving along this section, located about 5.7 miles from Route 311.

In addition, for the next two to three weeks, flaggers may control traffic during daytime hours on weekdays while additional work is completed and the gravel section of roadway on Route 622 is paved.

The detour, which has been in place since June 29, was originally expected to be in place until mid-August.  The culvert replacement did not require as much earthwork as anticipated so the crew was able to remove the detour earlier.
