TRAFFIC ALERT: DETOUR AND LANE CLOSURES SCHEDULED FOR PAVING OPERATIONS ON ELM AVENUE

SALEM – As part of the Interstate 581 and Elm Avenue interchange project in Roanoke, there are ramp and lane closures scheduled next week for a paving operation.

Monday, June 1, Wednesday, June 3 and Friday, June 5, a detour from I-581/220 northbound onto and over the ramps at Elm Avenue to return to I-581/220 northbound will be in place from 10 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. the following morning for paving work on Elm Avenue at the bridge.

Tuesday, June 2 and Thursday, June 4, a detour from I-581/220southbound onto and over the ramps at Elm Avenue to return to I-581/220 southbound will be in place from 10 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. the following morning for paving work on Elm Avenue at the bridge.

This work is weather and work schedule permitting. Drivers should expect delays or seek alternate routes. Motorists are encouraged to use caution as they travel through the work zone.
