TRAFFIC ALERT: SOUTHBOUND INTERSTATE 77 BLOCKED IN CARROLL COUNTY

SALEM – Southbound Interstate 77 in Carroll County is currently closed due to an incident with an overturned tractor-trailer at mile marker 22.4.

Incident responders are on the scene with the assistance of the Virginia State Police.

Congestion has reached 4 miles and traffic is now being detoured off the Interstate at exit 24 onto Route 52 south and back onto the Interstate at exit 19.

There is no estimated time for reopening the right northbound lane of I-77 has been established at this time. Drivers need to seek alternate routes.
