TRAFFIC ALERT: ROUTE 58 IN PATRICK COUNTY ON LOVERS LEAP MOUNTAIN REDUCED TO ONE LANE
Drivers should expect delays as pilot trucks and flaggers are controlling traffic

SALEM – About three miles of Route 58 (Jeb Stuart Highway) on Lovers Leap Mountain in Patrick County is reduced to one lane due to eroded slopes along the roadway caused by heavy rainfall.

Eastbound and westbound traffic is alternating using the single open lane on the section of Route 58 starting just west of Route 640 (Central Academy Road) and extending to the scenic overlook atop Lovers Leap Mountain.

Drivers should expect delays on Route 58 as pilot trucks and flaggers are controlling traffic around the clock.

No estimated time for reopening the lane has been established.
