TRAFFIC ALERT: LANE CLOSURES SCHEDULED NEXT WEEK ON INTERSTATE 81 IN ROANOKE AND MONTGOMERY COUNTY

SALEM – Bridge and slope repairs will take place next week on Interstate 81 and traffic impacts will include lane closures and possible delays for drivers.

On Tuesday, January 5 and Wednesday, January 6, weather permitting, a left lane closure will be in place on I-81 northbound from mile marker 148.5 to 149.5 in Roanoke County for bridge approach repairs. The lane closure will be in place during daytime hours, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  

From Sunday, January 4 to Thursday, January 7, a right lane closure will be in place on I-81 southbound at mile marker 113 for approximately one mile in Montgomery County for emergency slope repairs. The lane closure will be in place from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning each day.
