SALEM DISTRICT: EQUIPMENT OPERATORS ON ALERT AND READY FOR CLIPPER SYSTEM
Weather could create slick roads along western slopes and in higher elevations

SALEM – With a clipper system expected to pass through southwestern Virginia overnight on Sunday, Jan. 25 and continuing into morning of Monday, Jan. 26, drivers should be alert to possible slick roads particularly in the higher elevations and along the western mountain slopes.

Virginia Department of Transportation snow plow operators and contractors are on alert and prepared to plow and treat roads as necessary.

Motorists are encouraged to get real-time traffic information and road conditions for Virginia roads by using VDOT’s 511 free mobile app or the www.511Virginia.org website and phone system.
