TRAFFIC ALERT: NORTHBOUND ROUTE 419 TRAFFIC PATTERN IN ROANOKE COUNTY CHANGED AT TANGLEWOOD MALL
Turn lane has become a shared right and through traffic lane

SALEM – A traffic pattern change has been implemented for northbound Route 419 in Roanoke County in front of Tanglewood Mall.  The change affects the right lane of northbound Route 419 between the Route 220 Expressway off-ramp and Odgen Road.

The right lane of northbound Route 419 has been changed and to become a shared through and right turn traffic lane. Previously, this right lane was designated as a right turn lane only.

To implement the change, crews altered the traffic signals, signage and pavement markings on Route 419 between Ogden Road and Route 220 Expressway.

This change was made to reduce traffic congestion along Route 419 and allows the large number of vehicles turning onto Ogden Road to use the outside lane.

Drivers should be alert to this new traffic pattern.
