TRAFFIC ALERT: ROUTE 311 CLOSURE SCHEDULED FOR SATURDAY FOR TREE REMOVAL

SALEM – On Saturday, Oct. 4, the section of Route 311 (Thompson Memorial Drive) in Roanoke County between Route 630 (Kessler Mill Road) and Route 1700 (Laurel Woods Drive) will be closed so American Electric Power can remove a tree.  The road will be closed from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.  

The road will be closed so a large crane can be brought in for workers to safely remove the tree.

Drivers will need to seek alternate routes around the Route 311 closure during this time.
