TRAFFIC ALERT: NORTHBOUND INTERSTATE 81 IN PULASKI COUNTY CLOSED SO CREWS CAN CLEAR TRAFFIC AND TREAT ICE

SALEM (9:30 p.m.) – With nighttime temperatures falling and moisture present on pavement surfaces from the recent snow, ice has formed along the section of northbound Interstate 81 at mile marker 103 in Pulaski County.

Northbound I-81 traffic is currently completely stopped at mile marker 103 and backed up for 10 miles.  I-81 is expected to be closed for approximately 3 to 4 hours at this location.

Drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes or expect lengthy delays on northbound I-81 in Pulaski County.  

No parking is currently available at the truck stop located on northbound I-81 at mile marker 101.
