TRAFFIC ALERT: NIGHTTIME ROLLING ROAD BLOCK SCHEDULED FOR INTERSTATE 81 IN BOTETOURT COUNTY

SALEM – Weather permitting, a rolling road block is scheduled to begin at midnight, Thursday, Feb. 6, on northbound I-81 at mile marker 150 in Botetourt County. The rolling road block is necessary for repairs to the I-81 northbound bridge over Route 606 (Blue Ridge Turnpike).

State Police will assist with traffic control, slowing traffic at northbound mile marker 150. Traffic merging onto northbound I-81 from exit 156 will be stopped at the exit until the slow roll is complete.  The contractor anticipates the slow roll will take approximately 15 minutes.

Message boards will be in place. Drivers should be alert to State Police and flaggers directing traffic.
