TRAFFIC ALERT: EXPECT DELAYS AT ROUTE 221 AND ROUTE 668 INTERSECTION IN BEDFORD COUNTY NEXT WEEK

SALEM – Starting next week, traffic will be reduced to one lane on Route 221 (Forest Road) and Route 668 (Goode Station Road) in Bedford County to make test borings as part of an intersection improvement project.

Work is tentatively scheduled to take place on Tuesday, June 10 and Wednesday, June 11.  Additional days may be scheduled if needed to complete the drilling on Thursday, June 12, or Tuesday through Thursday, the following week.

While the drilling operations are in progress, flaggers will control traffic on Route 221 and Route 668 around this intersection each day from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.  Drivers should use caution and expect delays.

The test borings are needed to develop plans for future intersection improvements.

These dates are tentative and could be adjusted depending on weather and work schedule.
