TRAFFIC ALERT: PIPE INSTALLATION TO AFFECT ROUTE 58 TRAFFIC IN CARROLL COUNTY
Flaggers to control traffic at Route 654 intersection November 6 through 8
SALEM – As part of the road construction project to widen a 8.2-mile section of Route 58 that passes through Patrick, Floyd and Carroll counties, a pipe will be installed beneath Route 58 in Carroll County at its intersection with Route 654 (Gladesboro Road).
Weather permitting, starting at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 6, flaggers will be controlling traffic on Route 58 at the Route 654 intersection around the clock for approximately 48 hours until work is completed on Friday, Nov. 8.
Motorists on Route 58 and Route 654 should use caution and expect delays.
Design-build contractor, Branch Highways, began construction in summer 2012 to widen 8.2 miles of Route 58 between Meadows of Dan and Laurel Fork. This location is referred to as the Tri-County (3.2 miles) and Laurel Fork (5 miles) sections of Route 58. Work is being completed under a Public-Private Transportation Act agreement.
Work on the entire 8.2-mile section is expected to be completed by fall 2015.
