TRAFFIC ALERT: EMERGENCY PIPE REPAIR RESCHEDULED FOR ROUTE 1767 IN ROANOKE COUNTY

UPDATE: July 12, 2013

Crews will attempt to have the road open late tonight (Friday, July 12) but the work may go into the day Saturday.

UPDATE: July 11, 2013

Due to the weather, the repairs will continue through 5 p.m., Friday, July 12.

SALEM – Beginning at 8 a.m. Wednesday, July 10, crews will close a section of Route 1767 (Old Farm Road) in Roanoke County for emergency pipe repairs.

An alternate route is not available. VDOT will provide transportation for residents from their homes to their vehicles in a nearby parking area. Water service will not be interrupted during the work.

The repairs will continue until 5 p.m. Thursday, July 11.

This pipe was damaged during the rain on Tuesday, July 3. Approximately 14 homes are affected by the closure. A scheduling conflict with a utility company postponed the repairs originally scheduled to begin Sunday, July 7.

This work is dependent upon weather and work schedule.
