CITIZEN INFORMATION MEETING SCHEDULED FOR I-81 BRIDGE REPLACEMENTS IN MONTGOMERY AND PULASKI COUNTIES
SALEM —The Virginia Department of Transportation will hold a citizen information meeting on a proposed project to replace the Interstate 81 bridges over the New River and the Route 232 bridge over I-81 on the Montgomery and Pulaski County line.
The meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 25, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the City of Radford Municipal Building Council Chambers, 10 Robertson Street, in Radford.
This meeting is being held to provide an opportunity for citizens or organizations to give VDOT input on the proposed project. The meeting will be held in an open-house format with no formal presentation given. VDOT representatives will be present to discuss the proposed project and to answer questions.
The project entails replacing the northbound and southbound I-81 bridges over the New River at mile marker 105 (Radford), replacing the Route 232 bridge over I-81 and modifying the associated approach roadways.
Comments about the proposed project may be submitted at the meeting or until July 5, 2013 by mailing them to Mr. Tim Dowdy, Project Manager, Virginia Department of Transportation, P.O.
