TRAFFIC ALERT: TRAFFIC CHANGE COMING TO ROUTE 58 IN CARROLL COUNTY DUE TO HILLSVILLE BYPASS CONSTRUCTION
New traffic pattern will require westbound Route 58 traffic to stop at stop sign

SALEM –   Beginning Tuesday, June 21, traffic on Route 58 in Carroll County will be shifted into new patterns near the Route 820 (Freemont Road) intersection due to grading as part of the Hillsville Bypass construction project.

Westbound Route 58 will be shifted at Route 820 (Freemont Road) onto a newly constructed section of roadway.  A new traffic pattern requiring westbound Route 58 traffic to stop at a stop sign will be implemented.  Traffic will stop, turn right and re-enter existing Route 58 just west of Route 669 (Spring Hollow Road).

Eastbound Route 58 will be shifted onto a new section of roadway starting 0.2 mile west of Route 669.   Eastbound traffic will be slowed and return to Route 58 at the Route 820 intersection.

These traffic patterns for westbound and eastbound Route 58 are expected to remain in place until mid-August.

The overall construction project is expected to be completed this fall.
