TRAFFIC ALERT: ONLY ONE LANE OF ROUTE 460 IN GILES COUNTY, VIRGINIA OPEN TO TRAFFIC
Route 460 traffic to be impacted into the nighttime hours

SALEM – An accident involving an overturned tractor-trailer on Route 460 in Giles County, Virginia has closed both westbound travel lanes and one eastbound travel lane.  The accident occurred on Route 460 between Rich Creek and Narrows, just east of the West Virginia state line.

As of 9:30 p.m., only one lane out of four lanes is open to traffic.  Eastbound and westbound Route 460 traffic is alternating using this one lane, so drivers should expect slow moving traffic and major delays in the area.

Accident responders expect for Route 460 traffic to be impacted into the overnight hours and do not have an exact time for reopening the road.

The tractor-trailer was hauling steel beams which caused some pavement damage on Route 460.
