TRAFFIC ALERT: $1.7-MILLION PAVING PROJECT BEGINS AT ROUTE 11 AND ROUTE 220 INTERSECTION IN BOTETOURT COUNTY
Nighttime paving will impact traffic at Interstate 81’s exit 150 (Troutville) until September

SALEM – Weather permitting, on Tuesday, July 5, a project to repave the intersection of Route 11 and Route 220/Route 220 Alternate in Botetourt County will begin.  The intersection is located at Interstate 81’s exit 150 (Troutville).

The $1.7-million paving project entails repaving both directions of Route 11, Route 220 and Route 220 Alternate around this intersection.  Various lane and exit ramp closures will be in place during nighttime hours.  The lane and ramp closures may occur each night, Monday through Saturday, between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. and on Sundays between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.

The section of Route 11 to be paved extends between Route 811 (Old Route 604) and the exit ramp leading from northbound I-81 onto Route 11.   The other section of roadway to be paved begins at Route 220’s intersection with Route 816 (Tinker Mountain Road) and extends to approximately 0.2 mile east of Route 11 on Route 220 Alternate.

Drivers will need to expect delays during nighttime hours and be aware of changing traffic patterns.  Work is expected to be completed in early September.
