TRAFFIC ALERT: ROUTE 605 IN FRANKLIN COUNTY WILL BE CLOSED ON MONDAY FOR RAIL CROSSING WORK

SALEM – Weather permitting, on Monday, May 17, Route 605 (Henry Road) in the Henry area of Franklin County will be closed to traffic from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. due to work on the rail crossing.  The rail crossing is located about 0.1 mile from the Henry County line.

Drivers will need to detour around the closure.

To detour from eastbound Route 605, drivers should turn right onto Route 606 (Towne Creek Road) then turn left onto Route 837 (Marshall Hill Road) and then make a left turn onto Route 648 (Stanley Branch Road) to return to Route 605.

For a detour from westbound Route 605, motorists should turn left onto Route 648 (Stanley Branch Road), then turn right onto Route 837 (Marshall Hill Road) and then make a right turn onto Route 767 (Prillaman Switch Road) to proceed back onto Route 605.

Message boards will be in place on Route 605 to alert drivers to the upcoming closure.
