TRAFFIC ALERT: USE CAUTION AND EXPECT SOME DELAYS SATURDAY FOR THE GILES COUNTY RIDE RIVER RUN
SALEM – Motorists should watch for bicyclists and runners in Giles County on Saturday, Aug. 14 due to the RideRiverRun Triathlon and Relay. The RideRiverRun is a three-leg event that includes biking, canoeing and running. The triathlon will start from Red Flame in Narrows near Whitt-Riverbend Park at 10 a.m.
The following traffic impacts are expected as part of the event:
A left lane closure will be in place on southbound Route 100 (Pulaski Turnpike) between Route 460 Business (Wenonah Avenue) and Route 750 (Triangle Lane).
Flaggers will control traffic at times at various intersections and in some sharp curves along the race route. Expect possible delays on Route 730 (Eggleston Road) and Route 622 (Bear Springs Road).
Drivers should use caution and watch for runners along Route 636 (Ripplemead Road) and Route 1506 (Pyrtle Road).
The triathlon should be completed by Saturday afternoon.
