The road is expected to remain closed until at least 6 p.m.

SALEM – The northbound and southbound lanes of Route 116 (Jae Valley Road) in Roanoke County are expected to remain closed through Tuesday evening.  Route 116 is currently closed near the Franklin County line due to a tractor-trailer crash that occurred just after 7 a.m. Tuesday morning.  Accident responders had hoped to have the road re-opened by mid-afternoon, however, crews are still working on cleanup from the crash.

Currently, traffic on Route 116 is being detoured as follows:
Drivers should take Route 659 (Mayfield Drive) to
Route 617 (Pitzer Road) to
Route 803 (Coopers Cove Road)

Motorists are advised to use caution in the area and expect delays.  For up to the minute traffic information, call 511 or log onto www.511virginia.org.
