MOTORISTS SHOULD EXPECT LANE CLOSURES ON SOUTHBOUND ROUTE 100 IN PULASKI COUNTY
Crews will begin work to repair the I-81 bridge over Route 100
SALEM – Beginning Tuesday, April 14, motorists should watch for alternating lane closures on southbound Route 100 near the Interstate 81 bridge at mile marker 89 in Pulaski County. Crews will be repairing the I-81 bridge over southbound Route 100 and lane closures will be in place on Route 100 on weekdays from 7 am to 7 pm.
The exit ramp from I-81 southbound onto Route 100 southbound will remain closed until the bridge is repaired. Work is expected to be completed by mid- July. Drivers traveling on northbound Route 100 who need to access southbound I-81, can use Honaker Road to get onto I-81 at exit 86. To access southbound Route 100 from southbound I-81, motorists should take exit 92 and use Kirby Road.
On Feb. 26, the bridge that carries southbound I-81 over Route 100 in Pulaski County was damaged when it was struck by an over height vehicle.
