VDOT TO HOLD PUBLIC HEARING ON ROUTE 155/COURTHOUSE ROAD SHARED USE PATH PROJECT IN CHARLES CITY
Public invited to learn more about the proposed intersection improvements on August 9
The proposed trail would travel along Courthouse Road to improve connectivity, build on Virginia Capital Trail network
SOUTH CHESTERFIELD —The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will hold a public hearing on a shared use path project proposed for Courthouse Road/Route 155 to connect Charles City High School facilities with the Capital Trail on John Tyler Memorial Highway/Route 5 in Charles City County. The purpose of the project is to allow cyclists, pedestrians and other non-motorized travelers access to the Charles City schools complex from Route 5, and maximizing VDOT’s existing Virginia Capital Trail network.
The meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 9 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Charles City High School, located at 10039 Courthouse Road, Charles City, VA 23030. This meeting will provide an opportunity for individuals, businesses or organizations to give VDOT input on the project.
Comments about the proposed project may be submitted at the meeting or until August 19 by mailing them to Adam Brooks, Project Manager, Virginia Department of Transportation, 2430 Pine Forest Drive, Colonial Heights, VA 23834-9002.
