VDOT TO HOLD INFORMATION MEETING ON TWO BRIDGE REPLACEMENT PROJECTS IN POWHATAN
Public invited to learn more about the proposed projects on Oct. 25
Old Buckingham Rd. (Rt. 13) bridge one of two proposed for replacement
COLONIAL HEIGHTS —The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will hold an information meeting on two bridge replacement projects in Powhatan County. The meeting will include information about replacing both the Old Buckingham Rd. (Rt. 13) bridge over Sallee Creek and the Cartersville Rd. (Rt. 684) bridge over Deep Creek. The Cartersville Rd. (Rt. 684) bridge over Deep Creek is 79 years old and the Old Buckingham Rd. (Rt. 13) bridge over Sallee Creek is 97 years old. Both roads will be temporarily closed for replacement and detours will be in place for approximately 4-8 months during construction.
The meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Powhatan Volunteer Fire Department located at 3971 Old Buckingham Rd., Powhatan, VA 23139. This meeting will provide an opportunity for individuals, business and organization leaders to discuss the proposed projects directly with project staff members.
